Ack....

Well I thought I had the baby sleep schedule thing down. Then Hannah got sick. She had been sleeping straight through the night for about two weeks. Meaning to bed at 9pm and sleeping until 7am without waking up inbetween. Right about the time my body decided to go ahead and start making it thorugh the night again, Hannah changed her mind. Since she'd been sick she woke herself up caughing several times. Then she got an ear infection. So we went back to square one. Ugh....sleep.....I need sleep......is one 10 hour night with no interuptions too much to ask for? I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't going out in the mornings and galloping several racehorses. So now I've been trying to sneak in a nap in the afternoon when Hannah takes hers.

Today Lou spent some time with the baby. He fed her her afternoon cereal. A fist time for him so he felt a little awkward when he put the spoon in and the cereal didn't STAY in her mouth. Teehee!

She's been practicing her rasberries too. Not too long and she'll be covering whoever holds her with spittle!

She absolutely LOVES the dogs. Jorja is just waiting for the day when we let her lick Hannah in the face.
In other news I ventured out last saturday with two other ladies and participated in a Hunter Pace at Stonegate Farm. We had loads of fun. It was my first real time out without the baby. Normally the optimum time is fairly slow at this pace so we tried to take our time and meander around jumping whatever jumps didn't look too intimidating. Come to find out they changes things around this year and we were 8 minutes too slow. Go figure! It was fun though. I hope to get Sealy ready and do a few of the fall series paces with her.

Happy Mother's Day!

A big hug and "Happy Mother's Day" to all the mommies reading this blog! Especially to my mom Rose, Gramma Carrie, Mother-In-Law Sharon and Sisters-in-law Adriana and Brandy! I hope your day was full of love from family and friends!
I made sure that mom-in-law got her gift and card today. She enjoys gardening so we usually get her some flowers to plant. This year I found some really cute garden planters that look like a cowboy and cowgirl holding a pot. I also picked up some petunias and daisys for MIL to plant.
Some friends moved up from Florida and are currently living in their RV until a local campground opens. So they've parked themselves on the property here for a while. I thought it would be nice to give a gift to the wife, Cheryl today so she got some potted petunias since she doesn't really have a place to plant anything yet.
This morning the three of us girls met up with Lou's aunt and treated ourselves to breakfast while the guys did barnwork.
I guess I now know why it's a good thing that Lou married me. If he hadn't, his parents would never see a card or a gift....because he has forgotten to even wish me a Happy Mother's Day.....sigh.....oh well....Hannah gave me lots of cute smiles today and mumbled some stuff that (to me) sounded like "Mama..." It was a good day.

Snotty noses and new cars.

Hannah woke up this morning sounding snotty. Lou has been sick the whole week and now it seems Hannah has caught what he had. Doesn't matter that we've done our best not to let her get his germs. Seems it happens anyway. Poor girl! She seems like she feels fine. Her temp was 99.6 tonight. The doc on call says that she's okay unless it gets to 100.4. Then she recommends we take the baby to the pediatric ER in youngstown. It's about 50 minutes from us. Tonight I gave her a soothing warm bath and then her bottle. She's asleep now. I feel so bad because sometimes she gags. I doubt I'll sleep at all tonight for worry. Hopefully the cool mist vaporizer will help. I'm feeling a little puny myself. Downed some vitamin C, a Zyrtec and finished off a grapefruit for my dessert. *sigh* Figures....I'm supposed to go to VA this coming thursday....

...in other news, the in-laws have decided it's time to buy a "new to us" car....(they never buy "new") because of rising gas prices. Doesn't matter that Lou and I have been kind of looking for one for ourselves. So now it's truely the family car. I guess I'll have to ask for permission now to borrow the car....ugh....
anyway it's a 2005 chevy malibu. They are putting new tires on the back so I don't think we actually get it until monday. I think I will be the first to really test drive it as I'll probably be taking it to VA. My durango is only good for 30 minutes one way and then it needs a break. Someday it might actually get fixed.

I love spring!

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous lately! We have been in the mid to upper 70's with an occasional 80 - something degree day in between. I've been going out to gallop in the morings 4-5 days per week now. "Aunt June" babysits for Hannah from 8am to noon most days. Hannah seems to like her and June thinks that Hannah is "hers." Ummmm....whatever! Anyway, most of my rides have been fun and relatively uneventful. Except when the redneck neighbors let their dogs chase us. They really could care less where their animals run. So the other day Sharon and her friend Pete were riding the cowponies when the dogs came running at them from behind. Pete and Sharon spin and chased them off with the ponies. I wish I had had a video camera handy. The dogs tucked their tails and ran home.

Hannah is becoming quite the chatterbox. She has me laughing pretty much everyday. Most of what she says saounds like "eeewww----oooo---eeeeeee-----ohhhh." The only time I hear anything remotely sounding like "Maaaaa....muuhhhh...." is when she cries. Go Figure!

Michelle called me a few times to let me know that Blake is doing well in his training. She said he's got the best mind evah and he tries his little heart out. Here he is with her boyfriend aboard. He's learnging about flexing here. It took a while because his mouth had been badly torn up when I first bought him. His teeth were in desparate need of being floated and he had lots of sores inside his mouth. So he did resist for some time. But so far so good!

Sealy is still playing "pasture pet" because I never seem to have anyone to watch her for alng enough to get a chance to work with her. So if/when Blake sells I'm hoping to send her to Michelle for training as well. I'm pretty bummed about not being able to ride her much. I was hoping to have her ready to show by now. Problem is that Hannah only seems to like to have only certain people watch her and those that are available are not currently on her "list."
