Okay....okay!!

This post is for you Paul. Even from Germany you've given me the virtual wrist slap for slacking in my blog. So here's an update just for you!
Let's see....rain, rain, rain...wind, wind, wind.....no sun.....mud....hmmmm.....what else is new? lol

Seriously though, I want that warm sunny weather back.
Hannah was sick with that Hand foot and mouth virus. She was miserable. Started feeling better and I developed a cold, which she got too. Hers went away and mine turned into a sinus infection. NOw everyone is hurrying to mow their lawns before more rain and allergies are just off the charts! I'm ready for something new!

We did have a win sunday night with "I am the King." He's a 3 year old who has had 3 starts....2 wins and a second. So needless to say we are extremely proud of him. We've got another running in about ten minutes so I have to go get the VCR ready to go.

Ummmm...Lego is going to have surgery on his knee in the next week or two. He's got a chip in there and some other nasties that need to come out in order for him to stay sound. So I'm saving up for that.
Still on the search for a puppy.....
....heading to VA to visit Mom and go to Michelle's wedding this weekend. Poor girl has had all kinds of people bail on her....cake person, photog....noone to do her hair. So I'm becoming a hair dresser and wedding photog this weekend. SHould be interesting!
Sealy has done absolutely nothing since the show. Between being super busy in the barn and being sick I had no energy to ride her. Back to work after this weekend though!
And last....this sunday is Mother's Day.....do not forget your Moms!

HOT!

So it has been in the mid 80's here the last several days. Nice to finally have some warm weather and get rid of all the mud we had. Only problem is after galloping and shoveling poo...and sweating...a lot...we had no nice, cool house to come home too. Last fall out air decided to quit working. Since the weather had already cooled off we didn't have the repair guy out. I guess we are paying for it now. As the temps were so cold we never thought about getting the air fixed. So we've been spending the last few days at the in-laws' until it cooled off. Still about 82 in the house but there is a breeze blowing through the living room which is nice. Poor Hannah is already a "hotbox" and sweat easily. Lou had to go get her a fan for her room. NOw is about the time when I really wish we'd installed our ceiling fans! Luckily the repair guy is coming tomorrow morning.....

Okay, I'm back!

I took a little break form blogging. I had much to say but just didn't feel like it. Ever feel that way?
So, let's see what I need to update on.....
Easter: Mom came up for the holiday. We had a great time playing with Hannah and going shopping. We had Easter Dinner at our place and had a total of 8 people there. I think I prepped and cleaned for 2 days while Mom got my laundry caught up and watched the baby for me. A few days before Lou and I took Hannah to and easter egg hunt at the racetrack. She loved picking up the eggs but was not real fond of being around 30 other loud children. The Easter Bunny was way too scarey as well.

Gramma: Her birthday was April 20th. She turned 96 this year. I think that is amazing!

Horses:

I went to a schooling dressage show last saturday. I took both Sealy and Lego and had a really good time. Kim came along and was a huge help. Camille stopped in to watch with little Grant as well. He's so cute! Both horses behaved really well. I got a 2nd in one class with Sealy and the other was either 2nd or 3rd. They had not finished the last ride by the time I left. Lego had a 4th out of 4. Not a real good score on his test but he was so good. I was pleased.

Racehorses:

We've been holding our own at the races. Had a big win with one of the 3 year olds. It was really exciting to see him run so well.

Sharon and Lou picked up 4 horses for our owner down at the Ocala Two Year Olds in training sale. Talk about gorgeous! Wow they are nice. I hope they all run well!

Paul is heading to Germany for work for 3 weeks. Safe trip Bro!

Happy Anniversay!

Today is my in-law's wedding anniversary. I think they are somewhere around 28 years. They seemed to both have forgotten this morning when I wished them a happy day! I guess sometimes we get so busy with our daily routine that we forget. Anyway, I hope they both had a nice day.....

No puppy...

I called three times on the cutie little puppy and she was on hold for someone else. This morning they said she'd been adopted. Poo.....I keep looking but am not finding anything that makes my heart got pitter patter. There have been a few I would have liked to go look at but they were in rescues. I honestly do not want to deal with the whole adoption process/periodic home checks and jumping through hoops. Not only that, they are asking between $175-$300 for mixed breed dogs! That's crazy! I'd rather spend the extra on a pure bred. So I'm trying to stick to the pounds in the area. Lots and lots of pitt bulls and labs. I do like labs but really would rather have a longer haired mutt. So the search is on!

In other news I'm in the process of buying a used saddle form a friend. It's a synthetic dressage saddle. Pretty comfortable and really all I can afford right now. Lou took some pics of me riding Sealy the other day. First time in the new saddle. It's definitely something I'm not used to so the stirrups will have to be lengthened gradually.
Lego is doing well. We went ahead and took the vet's advice and injected his knees. Hopefully he'll be like new in a few days! I need to get Lou to take some shots of me riding him too. He has come a long way since he got here and I'm totally smitten with him.

Puppy....Puppy......Puppy!!

I think I found her. Maybe....don't want to get my hopes up since she's in a pound a little over an hour away. I've been browsing petfinder so a while and while there have been some cuties, none of them have been right. This little girl is just so cute. HOw can anoyone not take her home?

I'm thinking about going to see her tomorrow......
