Girl's day...

Well, sort of.....
Hannah and I went out to lunch with Carie and her Mom Alice today. It was Alice's first time meeting Hannah and Hannah really liked her. We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch (YUMMY) and then had to stop at the store for a few things. We hung out and talked for a while at Carie's and then headed home. Later we went to Lou's Aunt June's for dinner. She made a Polish dish with a weird name. It had hamburger and cabbage chopped up and some kind of sauce. I'm not a huge fan of the greasy stuff so I mostly filled up on salad.
It took me an hour to get the baby to sleep tonight. She was soooo tired and cranky. She skipped her afternoon nap today because she was too interested in Carie's dogs. Then I got her to sleep at June's around 8:20pm and as we were leaving Grammy Sharon hollered back to her niece and woke the baby up. Frustrating to say the least. This family in it's entirety is so loud when they talk and laugh. It's hard to get used to.
In other news it sounds like Blake s finally getting his act together at the trainer's. She's been hard at work trying to get his canter together. This horse is just so laid back that he doens't really care. He's looking really nice now though and I'm hoping someone will come along soon and buy him. I can't afford to shoe him while he's down there anymore. I swear, farriers get away with murder. Since Lou shoes I know what everything actually costs. Four steel shoes cost about $8. He would charge $85 to put them on. Down in VA where Blake is it costs $150. Yikes! It boggles my mind! I know, I know.....quit bitchin'......sorry for the vent folks!
Anyway, here's my beautious Blake. They've done a fabulous job getting him fattened up and fit. When he left here he was in less than ideal shape coming out of winter and I was really mortified to send him the way he looked. He's such a sweet horse. I can't believe he hasn't captured some little girl's heart yet.
