I feel the need, the need for speed!

High speed internet that is! After three agonizing weeks of waiting, the guy finally showed up yesterday to put in our Hughes.net dish! Woohoo! He mounted it dish on the roof towards the back of the house. That this is huge! He told me they preferred to put it on a pole that goes 3 feet into the ground for more stability. Ha! That would have been a joke. Our property has been strip mined which means we have rocks....BIG rock right under the soil. In order to put in the poles for our privacy fence Lou and his dad had to use the big tractor with a rather large auger. Then they used the skid loader to push down on the suger because the tractor alone couldn't get through all those rocks.
This guy had a 6 foot, 30 pound bar that he thought he was going to use to make the hole and "break up the rocks...."
Lou said if not for the fact that they charge and extra $120 to do this, he would have told him to do it....then he would have grabbed a lawn chair, an umbrella for shade (it was about 90 degrees yesterday) abd in icey cold drink and settled in to watch the show! I know, mean......but awefully funny!
I asked the guy why they didn't tell me they recommended installion the dish in this manner AND why they didn't mention the charge. He didn't have an answer for me. I told him to put it on the roof....and warned me that they charge $150 if they have to come out to readjust the dish form a storm (ummmmm WTF? Are they kidding?) and I told him that if he installed it properly there shouldn't be any need....I hate when companies nickel and dime you. I was so put off that I almost cancelled the order. Only problem is that they really have people out in my area by the....well, for lack of a better word....balls....because there is no other high speed internet available for us. I've checked into all of them. I guess that's what you get for living out in the boonies!
